Bakery Manager

Wardensville, WV

The Bakery Manager will oversee the growth, logistics and responsibilities of the bakery. They will ensure the daily success of the Bakery operations and lead the bakery crew in achieving new goals and overcoming obstacles with the other Bakery Manager. This position must communicate and work together with all bakery crew and management,  as well as Farms Work Wonders management to ensure that everyone is kept in the know and engaged in their work. The position will report to the Culinary Director and play a critical role within the culinary management team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Staffing: interview, hire and manage necessary Bakery crew members and stay ahead of understaffing issues.

  • Supervising shifts and effectively managing Bakery staff through setting expectations and holding team members accountable as well as providing feedback for growth.

  • Scheduling team members for shifts while operating within determined Labor budgets. 

  • Execute & track inventory on a monthly basis.

  • Working with the Mission Department to find creative ways to involve and engage our Junior Crew.

  • Collaborating with our other Bakery Manager & Culinary Director to provide items of exceptional quality for our guests and an exceptional culture for our team members.

  • Setting and maintaining high standards in quality of food as well as professionalism amongst the Bakery team. 

  • Active in planning and executing all functions of the Bakery to meet daily, monthly and annual goals. 

  • Adherence to maintenance, safety and sanitation practices/regulations.

  • Implementing innovative strategies to improve productivity & sales. 

  • Research & Development of new bakery products or techniques. 

  • Communication with the Market team to ensure a successful collaboration between the 2 departments. 

EXPECTED WORK SCHEDULE

  • This position is a full time position and expected to work a minimum of 40 hours per week.

  • Initially this position will be Thursday-Monday starting at 5:30am and ending at 1:30pm. Eventually we will be looking to expand our Bakery to a second shift, pushing this schedule to afternoons and evenings. 

  • Availability of early morning, weekends & holidays are expected in this position. 

KEY QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Must be 18 years old

  • Must have a valid driver’s license

  • 3+ years of experience in a food service management position

  • Strong attention to detail

  • A desire to create exceptional goods & services for our guests and team members

  • Ability to oversee and manage Bakery operations

  • Ability to remain productive when pulled in many different directions

  • Ability to lift 50# and spend long periods of time on your feet

COMPENSATION

This position is classified as exempt with an annual salary starting at $48,000. In addition to competitive pay, we offer the following benefits for regular, full-time employees:
